Education VICÂ introduces Narbethong State Special School in Buranda, for all your education and learning needs.
Narbethong State Special School provides for the educational needs of students from birth until the end of their semester allocation of schooling. Educational programs are offered to students who are vision impaired, vision impaired with additional disabilities and for those students who are deaf blind.
There are currently 55 school age students attending the school and 30 students enrolled in the Early Childhood Intervention Program. Students travel from various areas of metropolitan Brisbane to attend Narbethong.
The school program has a commitment to the methodology of Active Learning. Active Learning offers self paced developmental learning where students have the opportunity to initiate, repeat and learn from their own play. Environments are developed for each student to provide opportunities to utilise already achieved motor, cognitive and emotional abilities. Additionally, such environments must arouse the students’ interest and curiosity to encourage further development through the activities.
Welcome to Narbethong State Special School one of the popular educators in your Buranda area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
