Education VICÂ introduces Hunter Academy Of Sport in Newcastle West, for all your education and learning needs.
The Hunter Academy of Sport is the largest Regional Academy of Sport in Australia. The Academy services approximately 600 talented young sports people from the Hunter Region across 27 different sports.
The aim of the Hunter Academy of Sport is to nurture the Hunter Region’s talented young sports people so that they will hopefully progress in their sport to the NSW Institute of Sport and/or the Australian Institute of Sport Programs and/or represent at state, national or international level.
The Academy offers comprehensive programs which not only focus on skill development but also fitness testing, strength and conditioning and education in relation to sports nutrition, recovery, psychology, public speaking and much more.
As well as the talent development programs on offer, the Hunter Academy also conducts the annual nib Hunter Festival of Sport which attracts a large number of participants. The aim of the Festival is to introduce young people to new sports and to try and increase participation in sport to promote a healthy lifestyle in general.
The Hunter Academy of Sport also coordinates the annual Greater Building Society Olympic Athlete Scholarships, Hunter Region School Sports Awards and the Hunter Region Sporting Hall of Fame.
