Education VICÂ introduces Parramatta State School in Cairns, for all your education and learning needs.
Parramatta State School was established in 1927 near the centre of Cairns in a suburb called Parramatta Park.
During the 1950's Parramatta State School was one of the largest schools outside of Brisbane with an enrolment of over 1000 students. With the rapid expansion of northern beaches and southern suburbs in Cairns, enrolment numbers have reduced significantly over the years, now standing at approximately 420 students.
Parramatta's student population is diverse. The suburban community comprises a broad cross section of occupations and cultural groupings. The student population reflects the social and cultural diversity of the surrounds. A significant feature of the school is its multi-cultural community.
Enrolments consists of students Prep to Year 7, as well as an Early Childhood Development Unit (PDF) catering for 55 students aged 0-5 years old.
Welcome to Parramatta State School one of the popular educators in your Cairns area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
