Minmi Public school is located on the outskirts of Newcastle District and is part of the Wallsend Community of Schools. Students have the opportunity to move on to Wallsend High campus, and then the senior campus of Callaghan College, for their high school education. The school community's shared beliefs are that: our school should be pro-active, aiming to anticipate change and respond positively to it; our school should provide a caring, safe environment in which students feel happy and confident; each student should receive appropriate recognition for effort and have opportunities to reach their full potential; the school will provide a positive and supportive network; students learn through participation; there should be balance between all appropriate learning areas; effective involvement and positive participation by the school community should be encouraged; consultation enhances effectiveness; and we must be innovative in the use of resources.
