Welcome to Mount Barker South Primary School, a vibrant and exciting learning community. Mount Barker South prides itself on its quality relationships, and students and adults working collegially and collaboratively together to support students to achieve their goals.
Children are at the heart of everything we do.
At “The South” we strive for excellence, to earn trust and respect, and to build and strengthen relationships—not only with children and young people, but their parents, carers and the wider school community. We believe that the education of children is a partnership forged between the school and the community in which we live. We have a particular emphasis on ensuring high levels of achievement in Literacy, Numeracy & Science. Our strong school values are encapsulated in what we call REACH - Respect, Excellence, Acceptance, Cooperation and Honesty.
Mount Barker South Primary School is located in Princes Road, Mount Barker. The South School is a student/community oriented school, hosting the two Regional Special Classes with a total enrolment of 170 students. We identify ourselves as being a ‘Science Focus School’ which respects and appreciates the contributions of all involved. Our ‘Science Focus’ status is a badge we wear with honour.
To assist you in making the important decision of which school to send your child/ren, I do not believe such a decision can ever be made based on web information alone. Accordingly, I encourage and invite you to call us to arrange a tour for you and your family so you can fully appreciate the benefits of joining the Mount Barker South Primary School learning community.
Catherine Cox-Walliss
Principal
Welcome to Mount Barker South Primary School one of the popular educators in your Mount Barker area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
