Education VICÂ introduces Chinese Teacher's Blog in The Gap, for all your education and learning needs.
Chinese teachers all too often lead isolated lives, remote and removed from stimulating dialogues with their colleagues. How many meaningful professional exchanges about Chinese teaching and learning have you had with Chinese language colleagues in the past week, month, year? For too many of us, the answer will be nil, zero, zip. At our school, The Gap State High School, located in Brisbanes western suburbs (in the state of Queensland, Australia for those unfamiliar with the place) we have a great team of three specialist Chinese teachers who love what we do and enjoy the challenge of doing what we do even better. We have each other to bounce ideas off and that keeps us excited and motivated. Were Caitlin, Ian and Beth and you can read a bit more about us here. Everyday we talk about what we do, share new discoveries, discuss what we think might work, and suggest better ways to do things. With the Chinese Teachers Blog we want to expand our staffroom discussions to include all Chinese teachers everywhere and draw on a wider range of insights and experiences, and in the process hopefully open up a line of communication for those teachers who dont have colleagues to call on as we do.Welcome to Chinese Teacher's Blog one of the popular educators in your The Gap area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other’s uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
